"A garden in every yard, a plant in every home, a blossom on every table."
About the Blue Triangle Garden Club
The Blue Triangle Garden Club of Houston, Texas was founded in 1937. We are the oldest African American Garden Club in the State of Texas.
Our objectives are to stimulate an interest in home gardening, encourage civic beautification, and extend opportunities to learn the art of floral arranging, horticulture, and to promote civic responsibility. We support worthy charities when and wherever possible.
The club consists of women who are interested in gardening and pledge to support and participate in all club activities. Regular monthly meetings are held the second Monday of each Month from September through May. The club hosts two major events annually, The MacGregor Area Christmas Tour of Homes each December and a Standard Flower Show each April.
Our Creed. . .
We believe in flowers, for flowers are the living symbol of God. We believe that the lovers of flowers have a richer, happier heritage than any children of man. We believe that of all diversions of life, there is none that teaches more patience, gentleness, courage, and faith as the tending and growing of flowers.
